Happy HOLIDAYS

Happy Holidays to each and every one of you! As some of you are aware I had surgery on Thursday to remove skin cancer from my nose. Very painful as they went from my mustache line to my eye. It was well entrenched but hopefully they got it all. I'll know Wednesday what my options are. Take care everyone.. and watch each others backs. The State don't care about you, so take care of yourselves and each other.

release of prisoners

Todays Buffalo News states that the Governor has proposed letting up to 2000 inmates be released early. Does this make any sense? Your probably better off commiting a crime in NYS, than working for NYS. Early release, free room&board, free education, free food, FRP, free medical, recreation, religion, pay. What else could an individual need. Are commissary purchases going to include the cigarette tax, soda tax? I doubt it. How about the new medical tax! Make inmates start paying a co-pay for their medical and see how fast they stop signing up for sick call! I myself am tired of being taxed to death, only to see the wastes in this department.

Web site

check out the new listings for our union. They are very informative, and you will not get this info from your sector representatives. This gives you one more way to come out of the darkness on union issues. So many of you like to complain about the goings on at our facility, but what have you done to become part of the solution? Become informed! Stay informed! Help us to provide a united front, instead of a group of whiners and complainers.

Meeting minutes

Do you think our sector is being straight up with the membership? Meeting minutes are not being posted...again. Does no one have time to keep us informed? There was a football game, yet we have not seen any breakdown on costs..donations, etc. Aren't you curious where and how OUR MONEY was spent. I know there was money used from "Special Project Funds" but how much more was spent, than what was appropriated? It's very hard to get any info from anyone elected to represent us. A union should be open to its members. When I wrote to Pres. Rowe and asked for an audit of Wendes books-I was labeled a "RAT"
KEEP THE MEMBERSHIP INFORMED and things can stay at the LOCAL LEVEL, and not in Albany.
If things are not brought out in the open by the end of December, I will again be asking for an audit, and this time I will not BACK DOWN
